Forgotten Dungeon 1
The dungeon is a classic area in so many forms of media, but appears quite often in video games where anything can be a dungeon, even Forgotten Dungeon. Things that are Forgotten tend to make us uneasy which is understandable since we don't know anything about them. Dungeons are already scary places that the average person wouldn't even want to go near, but we're not the average person, we're adventurers! A dungeon appears and we pick our class to go exploring and facing any monsters that stand in our way. If it's been forgotten, there's a chance that it's hiding some incredible secrets and treasures.
About Forgotten Dungeon
The dungeon-crawler is one of the oldest styles of games since all it requires is a bunch of randomly assembled rooms, monsters, and treasure to give you something to do. This game gives you a dungeon as well as a world surrounding the dungeon. You can explore the overworld for its secrets while also doing quests to gain different kinds of rewards. This helps you get stronger and more comfortable with yourself until you feel like you're ready to take on the dungeon. Whether you are really or not prepared is part of the excitement of exploring the forgotten.
How to Play
Forgotten Dungeon is a 2D action-adventurer RPG about a hero fighting and exploring a mysterious world using just the mouse. The top left part of the screen shows your character's health and meters while below them is the list of skills they have. The menu options are in the lower right part of the screen for things like leveling up and your inventory. To navigate all of this, you need to move the cursor over to the icon and click the Left Mouse Button. To move your hero, click on a point on the land and they'll move toward it. To attack an enemy, click on it, to pick up an item, click on it, to interact with certain objects, click on them, and to talk to a character, click on them. The goal is to fight, get stronger, and defeat the dungeon. If your health drops to zero, you'll need to respawn at a previous point.
Before you start, you can choose which class you want to play: Archer, Warrior, Wizard, or Necro. The first two focus on physical abilities, while the next two are geared toward magic skills. After you choose your hero, you'll spawn in a small outpost in the middle of a desert and are free to explore. You can talk to characters to buy items, get information, or take on quests that guarantee specific rewards. From there, you head out into the world and start fighting monsters and looking for points of interest.
Enemies will attack you on sight and when you attack, the enemy health will appear at the top of the screen. Killing an enemy will earn you experience points and possible loot drops to collect. When your EXP bar fills up (under your magic bar) you'll gain a level that will give you points that you can put into your stats and another point to improve your skills. When you complete quests, remember to return to the quest giver for your reward.
Tips and Tricks
You need to decide from the start whether you want to keep your distance from enemies or charge right into them. Enemies will typically travel in groups so have preparation to fight large numbers. Always check your inventory for collected items to make sure that you're always putting your equipment and items to good use.
