Mini Stilts
The slimes are continuing to learn and teach themselves with their efforts being documented in games like Mini Stilts. Returning to the cute and colorful world of the slimes, green slime is traveling through a series of contained environments in search of goodies. Even though it can move at a good pace and keep its energy up, it's not enough to deal with the dangers it faces. Instead of jumping and other platforming tricks, this slime has mastered the ancient performance art of standing on two very long sticks and maintaining enough balance to walk fast and reach new heights.
About Mini Stilts
Nobody ever takes slimes seriously as enemy but they've come to be popular as protagonists in smaller adventures. This game is a nice example of a short adventure that you can play in your downtime. The slime does a lot of the work needing little input on your part mainly looking at your sense of timing. The difficulty ramps up nicely as more hazards are introduced and you need to get a feel for the stilts as a mechanic. If you can do that then you can make sure that this slime masters these tools and you master how best to use them.
How to Play
Mini Stilts is a 2D platform puzzle game about guiding a green slime past obstacles using stilts and either the mouse or keyboard. By pressing the Spacebar or the Left Mouse Button, the slime will get on or off their stilts. It moves at a constant pace no matter what, only changing direction when it hits a wall. The goal of each level is to get the slime into a floating piece of candy. To test your skill, you can try to complete the game as fast as possible in Speedrun mode.
Each level is a contained chamber that restricts the slime's movement. When on stilts, the slime is one block above ground level. When the slime hits a wall or the edge of a different surface, the stilts will fall away. In the case of the latter, the slime will land on the new surface and keep moving as normal. The slime has an infinite number of stilts so don't worry about using them too much.
As you make progress, you'll need to deal with other elements and hazards. The most notable are enemies that mainly take the form of stationary blobs that extend up and down as well as floating orange slimes that move across a set path. There are also red spikes that will be positioned on different surfaces. On contact with any of those dangers, the slime will be destroyed and you'll need to restart. A helpful element is green blobs that upon contact will launch the slime vertically and in whatever direction they're moving.
Tips and Tricks
The chambers are small enough that after the slime spawns, it's in a safe enough place so that you can examine the layout. Pay close attention to gaps in the ground and holes in the hazards before making your move toward the candy.
